What I use and why
- Orders and delivery: your name, contact details, billing and delivery address, chosen products, order and payment status. I need these to carry out the purchase agreement, handle returns and meet my accounting obligations.
- Questions and commissions: the details you send through a form or by email, such as dimensions, design wishes, budget and photos. I use them to answer you or prepare and carry out an agreement. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information.
- Workshops: your contact details and stated interests to send the updates you request. Joining an update list does not automatically mean you book a workshop or consent to unrelated advertising. You can withdraw your request for updates by emailing me.
- Customer accounts: your email and account information to let you sign in and view your own orders. An account is optional for shopping.
- Security and shop use: technical data such as IP address, browser, device, pages viewed and interactions, for security, fraud prevention and permitted statistics. Essential processing relies on my legitimate interest in a safe, working shop. Where consent is required for tracking, analytics or advertising, that consent is the basis.
- Marketing: I use contact details for promotional messages when you have given the required permission. You can unsubscribe or contact me to withdraw it. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Who receives data?
My webshop uses Shopify for hosting, checkout, accounts and order administration. Payment providers process payment details; delivery providers receive the details needed to deliver an order. Email and administrative service providers may process the information needed for their work. I may disclose data when legally required or necessary to handle a dispute. I do not publish information from your order or forms.
Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled. Shopify can use activity data from this shop together with information from interactions with other merchants to improve services, personalize experiences, measure use and support relevant advertising. Shopify and its partners may process information in other countries. Shopify acts as a separate controller for some of these services. See Shopify’s consumer privacy policy and Shopify Privacy Controls for its processing and your choices.
Cookies and your choices
Essential cookies keep the cart, checkout, security and language choices working. In regions where consent is required, the cookie banner lets you accept, decline or manage non-essential categories. You can change your choices using the cookie-preferences control. Read my cookie policy. Where applicable, you can also use the data-sharing opt-out page.
Retention
I keep data only for as long as needed for the purpose, applicable legal duties and the handling of claims. Core financial records generally have to be kept for seven years; a longer statutory period can apply to particular tax records. I retain correspondence while handling your request and as long as needed to evidence agreements or resolve disputes. Update-list data is used while your request remains active; after withdrawal, only information necessary to respect that withdrawal or a legal duty is retained. Cookie lifetimes are explained in the cookie policy.
International processing
Service providers can process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers rely on an applicable adequacy decision or contractual safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. You can ask me for more information about relevant safeguards. Shopify explains its arrangements in its privacy documentation.
Your rights
Depending on the applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. Email me to exercise these rights. I may need proportionate information to verify your identity; do not send a full identity-document copy unsolicited. I normally respond within one month. If a lawful extension is needed, I explain it within that period.
You can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or the competent authority where you live. Mandatory privacy rights in your location remain unaffected. You are not required to provide optional information; without the details necessary for an order, I cannot process or deliver it.
Changes
I update this statement if the shop’s processing changes. The date above identifies this version. Contact me if anything is unclear.
