A stained glass gift to remember someone

Sometimes a color or a flower brings someone to mind. If you are choosing a gift in memory of a loved one, I would start with that personal connection. A small piece of glass can be a keepsake for a window or a quiet corner at home.

Start with the person receiving it

A remembrance gift is personal. Consider whether the recipient would welcome an object for their home, and whether they would prefer to choose it themselves. There is no need to give it immediately after a loss. A birthday, an anniversary or an ordinary day may feel right to you.

I suggest choosing one detail with meaning: a favorite color, a love of flowers or a simple circular shape. You do not need to explain every part of the design. A short note in your own words can say why you chose it.

Two pieces to consider

UNITY: a circular piece about connection

I made UNITY around the idea of connection and unity. The circle measures 12.8 cm (about 5.04 inches) across. It comes with a 50 cm (about 19.69 inch) transparent wire. Choose it if the shape or colors remind you of the person you have in mind; it does not carry a fixed religious meaning that a recipient must share.

BLOOM: a flower that can stay in the home

BLOOM is my handmade glass flower, in medium, 11 cm (about 4.33 inches), and large, 14 cm (about 5.51 inches). It comes with a 50 cm glossy cord. The product page shows the available colors and sizes. Choose a color the recipient likes rather than assuming a particular flower or color has the same meaning for everyone.

Think about where the gift will go

These pieces hang from a suitable fixing; they are not freestanding memorials. Check that the recipient has space for the glass and its cord or wire, away from opening windows, children and pets. My hanging guide covers the practical checks. If you do not know the room, asking about a preferred size can be more helpful than choosing the largest piece.

Can I add a name or a special symbol?

The listed UNITY and BLOOM pieces are sold as shown. A name, inscription or different design is not included. If you have a separate idea, tell me about the custom work you have in mind. I will discuss feasibility and timing with you first.

Can I order it for a particular date?
