Stained Glass Entryway Decor
An entryway can have good light but little free space. A small hanging piece can add color to a fixed window or a wall beside the door. It is different from a fitted stained glass sidelight, a glazed door or privacy glass.

Map the movement around the door
- Open the door fully and mark its swing.
- Move curtains, blinds, coats and bags through their normal positions.
- Check whether a draft can push the glass against a frame, wall or handle.
- Keep the whole hanging arrangement away from the walking route and outside the reach of children and pets.
I do not recommend hanging a decorative ornament from a moving door or door handle. A fixed window, secure wall position or stable ceiling point is easier to assess. Choose a fixing suited to the item and surface; the included cord or wire is not the fixing.
Two compact shapes for a fixed spot
SPARKLE for a narrow area
SPARKLE comes in small, 10 × 6 cm (about 3.94 × 2.36 inches), and medium, 14 × 10 cm (about 5.51 × 3.94 inches). A 50 cm (about 19.69 inch) satin cord is included. The small option is useful to test on paper when the clear area beside a frame is narrow.
UNITY for a round focal point
UNITY measures 12.8 cm (about 5.04 inches) across. It comes with a 50 cm transparent wire. Check the circle and wire separately when you plan the final height.
Hold a paper outline at eye level from both inside and outside the entry. The artwork should feel balanced without obstructing a lock, handle, door viewer or opening window.
Decoration is not privacy or security glazing
My hanging pieces are decorative artwork. They do not cover an entire sidelight, replace safety glass or provide a verified level of privacy. If privacy is the main goal, choose a suitable window covering or glazing solution. My stained glass and window film comparison explains the difference between a loose artwork and a covering.
When the entry needs a custom design
A fitted architectural panel is a separate project. Use my custom work page to send the exact opening dimensions, photographs from both sides, preferred colors and details about the existing frame. Installation and technical suitability must be discussed for that specific project; I do not treat a hanging ornament as a fitted building element.
Questions about an entryway
Can I hang a piece in a sidelight?
You can consider a decorative piece in front of a fixed sidelight when there is enough clear space and a secure fixing. Check the full cord or wire length, the door movement and the walking route first.
What if the entrance is not sunny?
Choose a shape and colors you like in the available light. The glass may look different from a sunlit product photograph. My color and light guide helps you compare the background and time of day.
