How to Choose Stained Glass Wall Art
Stained glass can be enjoyed away from a window. Claire describes both SPARKLE and SUNDROP for wall decor as well as window display. Choosing a wall setting starts with a different question: how will the glass, outline and hanging cord look against the background you already have?

Choose the background before the color
Look at the wall in daylight and with your usual room lighting. A solid wall gives the piece a fixed background, unlike the changing view through a window. If you want the exact effect shown in a photograph with light behind the glass, ask for advice about your intended wall setting before buying; that photograph is not a guarantee of the same appearance there.
Use the product's close photographs to compare texture and outline, then consider the surrounding paint, wallpaper and existing artwork. A quiet background may help you notice the shape. A patterned background needs more careful comparison because its lines can compete visually with the glass.
Small accent or a round focal point?
| Artwork | Glass dimensions | Included hanging detail |
|---|---|---|
| SPARKLE, small | 10 × 6 cm / 3.94 × 2.36 inches | 50 cm / 19.69 inch satin cord; transparent wire on request |
| SPARKLE, medium | 14 × 10 cm / 5.51 × 3.94 inches | The same stated cord length |
| SUNDROP | 15 cm / 5.91 inch diameter | 50 cm / 19.69 inch transparent wire |
SPARKLE offers a compact, playful outline and two sizes. SUNDROP gives a circular sun motif a little more presence. These are small decorative pieces; measure them in relation to the furniture or frames nearby rather than expecting either one to fill a large empty wall.

Try a paper layout before choosing
- Choose the spot and measure the available width and height.
- Cut a paper shape to the artwork's listed dimensions. Position it where the glass itself would sit.
- Allow separately for the cord or wire and its attachment point.
- Step back to the distance from which you normally see that wall. Check whether the artwork still has the presence you want.
- Check clearance from doors, curtains and objects that could knock against it.
For a group of pieces, repeat the paper test before ordering multiples. Compare spacing and colors, and check availability for each selected item. A coordinated group is a display idea; it is not an existing set unless the individual product page says so.
Separate the artwork's cord from the wall fixing
An included cord or wire does not specify the correct hook, anchor or fixing for every wall. Choose support suitable for the actual artwork and your wall surface. If the listing does not answer a mounting question, contact Claire with the product link and a photo of the intended location. Do not assume an adhesive hook or suction cup is suitable simply because the artwork is small.
If you rent your home, check what fixings are permitted before ordering. This guide does not promise a drill-free installation. For a location in front of a window instead, use the window art measuring guide.
When a custom wall piece makes more sense
If the paper layout shows that a standard ornament is too small, discuss a custom piece instead of scaling the product measurements in your head. Include the wall dimensions, viewing distance, colors and budget. A different size or arrangement needs its own design and support discussion.

Questions about displaying glass on a wall
Will it look the same as it does in a sunny window?
Do not expect an identical effect. The background and lighting are different. Use photographs as a starting point and ask about the exact piece if that visual effect is essential.
Are these framed prints or wall tiles?
The linked SPARKLE and SUNDROP products are handmade glass ornaments with their stated cord or wire. They are not described as framed prints or building tiles.
Can I use this advice for an exterior wall?
This is an indoor display guide. Discuss exposed locations directly with Claire before choosing artwork for them.

A solid background changes how glass appears. Use the color and light guide to compare a wall setting with light passing through a window display.
