Stained Glass Kitchen Window Decor
A kitchen window can be a small but lively place for handmade stained glass. The useful question is not simply which color looks good: it is which piece fits the clear pane, stays away from the working parts of the window and still looks right in morning and evening light.

Measure the usable part of the kitchen window
Measure the clear width and height with the window, blind and curtain in their usual positions. Check handles, locks and opening sections. Then make a paper outline of the artwork and place it temporarily where you expect the glass to hang. This is especially useful above a sink or in a breakfast nook, where the view from the room matters as much as the view close to the window.
Keep the artwork clear of direct heat, cooking flames, frequent splashes and places where it can be knocked during cleaning. Claire’s hanging pieces are decorative art, not a replacement window, splashback, cabinet insert or privacy-rated installation.
Three handmade shapes for a kitchen window

SPARKLE: narrow and geometric
Small: 10 × 6 cm (3.94 × 2.36 in). Medium: 14 × 10 cm (5.51 × 3.94 in). Both use a 50 cm satin cord. The small option is useful when the clear pane is narrow.

BLOOM: a softer flower outline
Medium: 11 cm (4.33 in). Large: 14 cm (5.51 in). Includes a 50 cm glossy cord. Choose the color and size together; availability varies by combination.

SUNDROP: a round sun motif
15 cm (5.91 in) in diameter with a 50 cm transparent wire. Its circular outline needs more clear width than the small SPARKLE.
Choose color for the light you actually have
A north-facing window, a shaded apartment and a bright breakfast area will not show the same colors in the same way. Compare the product photographs, then look at your window at two or three times of day. A palette can appear brighter in transmitted light and quieter against a wall or dark exterior view. The color and light guide explains how to make that comparison without treating a color name as a guarantee.
If the kitchen already has several strong colors, use one repeated tone to connect the glass to the room. In a neutral kitchen, the outline may matter more than matching every surface: a flower, sparkle or sun creates a distinct silhouette even when the light is soft.
Plan the hanging arrangement before ordering
- Keep the artwork away from the opening path of the window and the swing of blinds or curtains.
- Measure the glass separately from the 50 cm cord or wire; the final hanging drop depends on the arrangement.
- Use a support appropriate for the surface and load, following its manufacturer’s instructions.
- Leave access for normal window cleaning without pulling on the artwork.
- For a sink window, check reach and splash patterns before choosing the height.

Kitchen window decor questions
Can stained glass provide privacy?
These ornaments add color and a focal point, but they are not sold as privacy glass. If privacy is essential, plan that separately and make sure any blind or shade can still operate without touching the artwork.
Is a kitchen-specific motif necessary?
No. A flower, geometric shape or sun can connect to the room through color and scale. Claire’s current collection does not need a food or utensil motif to work in a kitchen window.
Can I order a custom size for an unusual window?
You can discuss a custom brief with Claire. Send the clear width and height, a photograph of the window, preferred colors, display restrictions, budget in USD and delivery ZIP code. Feasibility, price, timing and shipping are confirmed for the individual project.
What should a US customer check?
Select United States for USD presentation, review the exact product option and enter the delivery address at checkout for the available shipping information. For a fixed date, contact Claire before paying; one listing or marketplace estimate is not a universal delivery promise.
